Deep Thoughts from the Steps – Take a Chance on Me

I love encouragement because it reminds me that others see my value. It feels even better when people encourage you by trusting you with something important, like a new job or relationship. Sure, it can be a little scary, but ultimately, it means that somebody thinks enough of you to take a chance.

But what about when people hear that new idea of yours and pass on it? Or when you make a mistake that makes people not trust you anymore? It can really hurt and make you think less of yourself.

Here’s a simple truth that took me years to appreciate: YOUR VALUE DOESN’T CHANGE BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DO OR SAY. Who and what you are doesn’t change on either good days or bad. You have the same worth at bedtime that you had when you got out of bed that morning.

I can say that with confidence because I believe that we’re all here on purpose. We’ve all got something to do with our lives, even if we don’t know what that something is. But that’s why we have hopes and dreams, right? They’re the roadmaps to finding our purpose!

So when nobody thinks you can do it, keep stepping. When others tell you that you’re less than you are, don’t listen because it’s not up to them. Don’t wait for someone to give you permission to turn your hopes and dreams into reality. Step out on faith, take a chance on you and remember: Don’t Doubt God!

That’s why we’ve produced our latest line of hoodies, tees and shirts featuring the theme “If I’m Not Willing to Take a Chance on Me, Who Will?” Because when you lose faith in you, those hopes and dreams will never see the light of day.
