Deep Thoughts from the Steps – Walk by Faith, Even When You Can’t See!
Every now and then, I think about how hard Muhammad Ali’s life was. Yes, he earned multiple heavyweight boxing championships, but only after overcoming poverty and racism. Yes, he’s a hero to millions worldwide, but he was public enemy #1 to many in the country of his birth. And after becoming one of the world’s greatest athletes, he spent his final years battling a crippling disease that made it hard for him to speak.
Mr. Ali is a great example of invoking your faith when it comes to facing challenges. He had an abiding faith in God’s purpose for his life, which helped him to keep moving when nobody would have blamed him for quitting. In fact, spirituality was one of six core principles that kept him connected to the Creator and helped him live out his purpose.
And because he was willing to walk in faith, he left a legacy that has impacted the world.
For me, invoking my faith means that I have to take risks, believing that God will see me through. When things get crazy, my faith requires me to slow down and listen to ensure that I understand what’s going on. Faith helps me calculate my next steps and discern between good and bad before I make a move. Through the years, I’ve come to depend on my faith like Peter Parker relies on his “Spidey Sense.”
Given all this, it shouldn’t be a surprise that we’re offering the Invoke Your Faith series, which takes the idea of wearing your faith to the next level. When we invoke our faith, we get closer to what God has in store for us and we show the world what it means to be driven by divine purpose!
Let’s make this faith walk together, y’all!
